Running Socks

The most common mistake people make when pairing their socks and dress shoes is to match the sock to the shoe and not the pant. In fact, it is your pants and socks that should match. And while you might not think there’s a huge difference between black Gold Toe dress socks and navy blue, the difference is huge (and obvious) to many. Choose socks that match the pant, not that are similar in color.

While it may be tempting to wear running socks in lieu of formal socks, this too is something that should never be done. Dress shoes are generally not made for the thicker material that athletic socks usually bring, and athletic socks are most often also white – often the worst color that you can wear with dress pants!
